Books have been published explaining why Catholics can't sing, why Catholics pray the Rosary, and why Catholics don't (and/or shouldn't) have women in the profession. From St. Brigid Press and journalist Michael O'Hurley-Pitts comes a journal on why both Catholics (and, to be sure, Christians of other denominations) don't administer. The Passionate Steward: Recovering Christian Stewardship from Secular Fundraising is a copy targeted at Christian parishes, in specific priesthood and laypersons liable for community stewardship, but is not needfully a "how-to" on the nitty-gritty of fundraising. Rather, Steward reads more along the lines of a "why-not" or "how-about" work in that difficulties of parish spot are not self-addressed beside certain solutions in mind, but are publicized to let the student to go to the prissy conclusions in the region of what is optimal for his/her religious.

O'Hurley-Pitts defines the varied kinds of stewardship, pointing out first that generous is "not transactional," but "vocational." The breakdown with implementing lay fundraising techniques to parishes, he argues, is that the act of bounteous is in so doing in hazard of existence cheapened.
